Blending elements of folk, blues, jazz and psychedelia, Atoll Blues takes influence from the likes of Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd and Pharoah Sanders with vocals often reminiscent of Jim Morrison.
The project began as the solo endeavour of frontman Samuel Floyd (The Miracle Seeds, Lucid Hound, Sacred Noise), playing intimate solo shows in and around Glasgow and gradually building a local following before expanding into a duo with guitarist Ali Carson (Lucid Hound). Now the band has developed into a fully fledged four piece with the addition of Drummer Robbie Iason (Sacred Noise) and bassist Liam Cole (Creamy Lips, Gypsy Roots), now capable of fulfilling Floyd’s sonic vision.
